The 4 star rated Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort has an enviable position overlooking the seafront promenade and wide sandy beach, in the quiet Playa de Los Pocillos district, of the otherwise lively resort of Puerto del Carmen, on the southern east coast of Lanzarote.

The hotel is approximately 5km south of the capital Arrecife and the Lanzarote International Airport, and a short walk from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1988 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern low rise Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort has a total of 598 guest rooms, including 501 twin rooms and a further 97 one and two bedroom Family Rooms, which are distributed between two 2 storey main buildings and a number of 1 and 2 storey annexes, all of which are set amidst almost 5,000m2 of sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, Family Rooms at the Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort, also have a lounge area with additional sofa beds, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and luggage and both courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and "swim-up" pool bar.

For business guests, the Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room, which is fully equipped with a selection of the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes four large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, two of which are heated during the winter, along with two further smaller children's splash pools, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols.

Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground and mini club, along with 3 hard surface tennis courts, a multi-sports activity area for football and volleyball etc, and both pool and table tennis tables.

Guests staying at the Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the "Body Love" Health and Beauty Centre, which features a cardiovascular gymnasium with Jacuzzi and Bio-Sauna, as well as offering a variety of other cosmetic and beauty treatments, including physiotherapy and massage.

The Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring boules, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
