Part of the prestigious Sol Melia Group of hotels, the 4 star rated Hotel Sol Lanzarote has an enviable position overlooking the seafront promenade and wide sandy beach, in the Matagorda district of the lively resort of Puerto del Carmen, on the southern east coast of Lanzarote.

The hotel is approximately 6km south of the capital Arrecife, 2km from the Lanzarote International Airport, and a short walk from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1988 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2015, the modern low rise Hotel Sol Lanzarote has a total of 343 guest rooms, offering a choice of both twin and family rooms, all of which are built over 4 floors, and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, a number of Superior and Xtra Sol Suites are also available which offer guests a lounge area with additional sofa beds, microwave oven, along with tea and coffee making facilities, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes 3 large freshwater swimming pools for adults, along with a further smaller children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, as well as a hard surface tennis court and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Sol Lanzarote also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring archery, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

From May to the end of October each year, the Hotel Sol Lanzarote is especially popular with families travelling with young children, and during this time, alongside the numerous adult activities, the resident Sol Animation team also provide themed children's clubs that are inspired by the legends of Katmandu, with the Club 4 being suitable for 1 to 4 years, Club 8 for 5 to 8 year olds, Club 13 for 9 to 13 years and the Teen Club from 14 to 17 years. Guests are advised that some activities will carry a supplementary charge payable locally.
